Special Case - RESCUED!
From Mark Cooper with Dallas Animal Services:
I have a very special case that I’m hoping someone
can assist with. I’d like to introduce you to “Fiona” the Terrier. Upon
her arrival, she immediately began showing serious signs of behavior
issues. She was surrendered by her owner who is a senior citizen and
recently underwent surgery to correct a brain injury. She is no longer
able to care for the dog. We quickly determined this dog would not be
suitable for our adoption or rescue program and made the decision to
humanely euthanize her today. Perhaps her behavior issues where caused
by a painful back injury or something of that nature. That’s what our
vet had concluded. You see, every time we would approach the kennel, the
dog would scream out like he was being tortured. Everyone was afraid to
touch her because she would became so fearful and vocal. Would she
attack out of fear or perhaps pain??
A
couple of hours ago and only minutes before she was walked to the
euthanasia room I made a last ditch effort, I decided to step into the
cage and see if I could get a better, more positive response from her.
To my joyful surprise I found that this dog is AMAZING and so super
sweet!!! She does however suffer some SERIOUS separation anxiety. All
she wants is to be in your presents and a soft lap to rest in. She has
no injuries, and she doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body. This
is the perfect dog for a senior who isn’t very active, or a retiree who
stays home a lot. I bet some medication would probably go along way with
her anxiety. If you can help, please let me know ASAP! She is afraid of
no one and wants love from everyone around her.
We
cannot hold this dog long because she is not doing well in this shelter
environment. She has spent the morning with me at my desk and she’s now
in our admin office enjoying the human contact. It would be cruel to
place this extremely scared and anxious dog back into her kennel, but we
must if not pulled soon. I desperately need her pulled ASAP! If you can
help, let me know soon.

This is a “unique” couple that raise their
babies together. Both mom’s are very friendly and trusting of their babies.
It’s a couple with very adorable babies. The momma’s were owner surrendered and
it’s probably for the best. Their ears have been eaten up by flies and they act
like they are starved for attention.

Mastiff/
Shepherd mix grandpa and two Chi’s are all such a sweet and happy family. LASTLY….Not
all families consist of a momma and her pups! Families are made of all types.
This is a unique family with what we guess is a grandpa figure and his two grand kids. Grandpa is a gentle giant who doesn’t appear to have been well cared
for. The two grand kids have no worries with grandpa around. They are cute and
super sweet curling up under grandpa’s belly!
If
you can help with any of these families, please let me know. Their time is
short and their plea is urgent!!
