Animals on the Urgent List are held on a day to day basis based on health, behavior and space. They may be humanely euthanized at anytime.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

To Reserve an animal from the Urgent List:
·    Please send us an e-mail to NSanimalrescue@arlingtontx.gov with the subject line:

§ Tag from Urgent List
Please include in your email:
· Your Adoption Partner Group Name
· The Animal’s Kennel/Cage# and ID #
· Which of your representatives will be picking up the animal?
· When you will be picking the animal up? (same day as tag or no later than close of business day the following day)
· What other services are being requested, if any, and how payment will be handled.
(rabies $10, dh2pp/bordatella $5.50, fvrcp $2.50, heartworm test $5.50, cat combo test $12.50, microchip $5.50, de-worming $1, frontline/advantage $2)
· If your group is utilizing a transporter that is not a member of your organization, please send your name, address and phone number along with a copy of your driver’s license to request a Transfer Out contract. Scan/E-mail or Fax# 817-459-5698

Adoption Partners should receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive this e-mail, it means that the animal has not yet been tagged for your group.

Adoption Partners must only send people that are on their current “pull lists” so that the correct animal goes to the correct Adoption Partner; if the person is not on the current pull list, please have the president of your group immediately send an email tolynn.trotter@arlingtontx.govsusan.waits@arlingtontx.gov stating that you wish to add that person. Please make sure that your representative has the animal’s correct Animal ID # at the time of pick-up.

No Adoption Partner will transfer an animal accepted from AAS to another group (rescue group, agency, organization, shelter, sanctuary etc…) that is not an AAS approved placement partner, without the approval of AAS.

To become an Adoption Partner with Arlington Animal Services, or just to find out more information about placement with Arlington Animal Services, go to http://www.arlingtontx.gov/animals/rescueorganization.html

Transporters are required to have carriers to transport animals in safely especially if they are transporting multiple animals. Transporters without proper containment devices will be turned away.

Groups that wish to utilize transporters that are not members of their group now have the option of completing the Transfer Out Contract. Group member will need to send an e-mail with their complete name, address and phone number and request that the transfer out contract be sent to them. It will need to be scanned and e-mailed back (or faxed) with a copy of the driver’s license of the person signing the contract as the group member. This will remove the responsibility of providing proof of spay/neuter from the people that are just transporters. Transporters will be sent with a copy of this Contract at the time of pick up. They will also sign it as a transporter and provide a copy of their driver’s license just in case there are any issues.

You can review our Adoption Placement Partner Standard Operating Policies and Procedures on our website at anytime.

Accounts are now audited on a quarterly basis to be sure that spay/neuter verification have been received on animals that have been transferred. Adoption Placement Partners privileges may be suspended for non-compliance of this requirement.

BREED SPECIFIC RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS

Interested in adopting a dog, but want a specific breed? You can actually find breed specific rescue organizations everywhere. Labs, Poodles, Beagles and dogs of all breeds need rescuing too! They don't have to come from a breeder. If you are looking to adopt a specific breed please search for your new pup through a rescue organization before calling a breeder.

Breeds are listed below. Some regional organizations are listed where DFW or Texas groups could not be found. Please contact me at sydneyr@alumni.ou.edu if there are groups I need to add/remove.

This information takes a long time to compile so I will add more over time. Also researching hybrid breed rescues for all of you labradoodle, cockapoo lovers out there!

Thanks!
