Sadie has been with her foster family for 6 weeks now. As much as they love her, Sadie still needs to find a forever home. Please pass along to your network and lets help this precious pup find a loving home! Every little bit you can do will help, Remember the Starfish!
“One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, ‘What are you doing?’
The youth replied, ‘Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.’
‘ Son,’ the man said, ‘don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can’t make a difference!’
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…‘I made a difference for that one.’"
This sweet girl was picked up running around on 8th Ave about 3 weeks ago and her current foster family is continuing to search for Sadie's forever home. She is a gorgeous dog and both Vets have said she is part Weimaraner , part pit bull and approximately 8 months old. Below is a bit of her history.
-No microchip.
-Spayed and current on all vaccines.
-Undergoing weekly training with Terri Elkins from Taming the Wild Side dog training.
-Can ‘sit’, ‘come to’, and ‘leave it’ over the past week.
-Foster family plans to continue weekly training until placed in a forever home.
-No signs of aggression towards any people, nor towards their 4 and 6 pound poodles that Sadie shares the house with. They try to discourage playfulness directed towards the small poodles, since Sadie is significantly bigger and stronger at 47lbs.
-Still needs to work on leash training and interacting with other dogs in a public setting.
-Partially house trained however does have accidents; Foster family is trying to discourage it by taking her outside about every 30-45 minutes, an hour tops.
-She is high energy when she first gets inside the house, but if she has outdoor space to burn her energy she will be calm and nap afterwards.
-Sadie has a bed, bowls and tray, treats and bones, collar, leash, and toys that will come with her.
This smart, sweet, and beautiful girl will make a great family dog! Sadie's foster family would like to find her forever home, placing her in a situation that is going to be sustainable. If Sadie is not a right fit for your family, please pass along her information in hopes to find her a home sooner.
