Saving Scotty

A disabled Vietnam veteran’s dog was declared dangerous (unjustly) by the City of Abilene a year and a half ago.  Joe Darlak’s dog, “Scotty,” has been confined at Abilene Animal Control since that time because Joe has not had the funds to get him out.  The deadlines for an appeal have passed and nothing can be done from a legal standpoint.

The Animal Law Clinic at South Texas College of Law negotiated a reduction in the amount the city would accept to release Scotty; however the amount still needed is $2,226, which Joe simply does not have.

Poor Scotty has been confined far too long and without our help, may spend the rest of his life in the pound until he is eventually euthanized.

Joe has already acquired the necessary insurance and arranged for proper enclosure for Scotty when he is released.
