Dogs in need of transfer at Dallas Animal Services

Dallas Animal Services hopes that everyone will have a safe and happy holiday weekend.  This weekend we will take time to remember and honor those who have lost their lives serving our country and fighting for our freedom.  DAS would like to remember our 4 legged soldiers, often referred to as “war dogs” but more commonly known as man’s best friend.  These amazing military working dogs saved lives, loyally served this country, and stood by our soldiers in times of war.  We will never forget!

Please, take the time to read about some of the wonderful Dallas dogs that we have here at our shelter.  All are ready to serve, protect, and love a new forever family…they just need a little help finding that family!  We have many more animals that can be seen on petharbor.com and petfinder.com

We will be closed on Monday for Memorial day but will be open through the weekend!  We love visitors! Please, email DASrescue@dallascityhall.com if you can help!

This beautiful momma is Maggie!  Maggie is a healer mix and she weighs about 40lbs.  She is just the sweetest girl ever!  She loves everyone and is taking wonderful care of her babies!  She has a total of 7 little ones, 3 girls and 4 boys.  The pups are probably about 4-5 weeks old.  They are starting to eat on their own but still need to be with momma. This wonderful family has a few guardian angels who are watching over them.  Their angels have offered a donation of $600 to the transfer partner who is able to pull them!

This adorable rat terrier mix is Tilly.  Tilly gave birth two 4 little puppies here at the shelter.  She is hoping that someone could offer up a nice home to raise them in.  She has 3 little boys and one girl.  They are adorable and Tilly is taking great care of them!  She would be an easy foster because Tilly will do most of the work!

This beautiful girl is Sunshine!  She is a sweet heart and will light up your life!  She is gentle and loving.  She weighs about 50.2lbs and is about 2 years old.  She came in with a slight limp on her left rear leg but has been responding to meds.  Sunshine also has and upper respiratory infection so she needs out as soon as possible.  She will recover much faster in a home. J  Sunshine would make a great companion for anyone! We also have a donation for sweet Sunshine!  Her guardian angel has offered $200 for this sweet girl!

This little puppy is Patch!  Patch is about 6 months old and weighs 23lbs.  We have patch as a Catahoula mix but he has short little basset hound legs!  He is fearful in his kennel but once taken out he is a happy playful puppy!  We are hoping Patch can be pulled soon since he gets so scared in the kennels.  We want him to enjoy his puppyhood.

This little boy is Poochi!  Poochi is a neutered male that is ready for his forever home!  He weighs about 8.8lbs.  Poochi was scared when a stranger found him on the street and accidentally bit the person when they put a leash on him.  He has been here and cleared his quarantine.  We have been able to put a leash on him with no issues.  Our rabies investigator has tested him and Poochi allowed her to flip him over, mess with his paws, everything!  He was just so happy to have the attention!  He really just wants a nice lap where he can sleep

This beauiful australian shepherd will be available to pull on the 25th.  He is about 2 years old and fluffy as can be!  This poor boy was found by one of our officers after he had been tied to a dumpster L  He deserves much better!  Please help this sweetie find a forever home!

Who doesn’t love little terriers?  Well it’s hard not to love this little boy!  This is Dude!  Dude is an 8 month old terrier mix.  He is a little fearful in the kennels, but with some sweet talk he warms up quickly.  Dude was surrendered to us when his owners could no longer afford to care for him.  He went from living in a loving home, to being in a kennel.  We love our dogs here at DAS but a shelter is never the same as a family of your own!  Dude is ready for his family!  Can you help him?

This pretty spaniel mix is Lulu.  Lulu is a victim of divorce and is now in need of a new stable home.  Lulu is about 4 years old and weighs about 24lbs.  She is currently under treatment for an upper respiratory infection.  She is a very sweet girl.  She will bark when first approached because she is still unsure of all that is happeing.  Once you sit and talk with comes around quickly and enjoys the attention.  She really needs to find a forever friend to love!
