Update: The sentencing hearing for Edwon Julian is this Thursday, June 27, beginning at 9 a.m. As you’ll recall, he was found guilty of felony animal cruelty for killing little Kisses the kitten by throwing her from the second-floor landing of an apartment complex. The judge, Larry Mitchell, will determine the sentence, which could be as much as 20 years in prison if the judge finds that Julian used a deadly weapon in causing the death.
It’s very important that as many people as possible attend the hearing to show Judge Mitchell that we won’t stand for animal cruelty and that we support the strong prosecution of cruelty cases. By the way, Judge Mitchell is the presiding judge is the case of puppy Justice. That trial is now set to begin August 19.
The hearing Thursday will take place in the 292nd District Court on the 6th floor of the Crowley Courts Building, 133 N. Riverfront in Dallas. Please read below for more details on this case and important information for visitors to the Crowley Courts Building.
Thanks, and I hope to see you there.
