Trial in Justice's Case Delayed; Will NOT Start Monday, June 10

This just in from the Dallas County DA’s Office: The trial of the four defendants in Justice's case is being reset again; it will NOT start Monday, June 10.

While another delay is very disappointing, rest assured that the State (the DA's Animal Cruelty Unit) has been ready to go to trial each and every time it was set. This latest delay has to do with a totally unrelated case. A capital murder case (of a baby shaken to death) was to start in the same courtroom (the 292nd) this week, but it has been delayed one week, to June 10.  So, Justice’s case is being pushed back.

We asked why that case couldn't be reset instead of Justice's, and the answer was that the defendant in that case has been in jail for more than three years. The four defendants in Justice's case have been in jail (and remain there) since they were arrested last year.

As soon as we hear the new date, we'll let you know.  Also, please check the Animal Newsboard North Texas Facebook page for the latest news and updates about this cruelty case and others: www.Facebook.com/AnimalNewsboardNorthTexas.

We still continue to expect that, eventually, there will be justice for Justice.

Thanks for caring.
